A young clandestine couple was recently banished from a plot at a market in Mbeere South, Embu County after tenants caught them making merry in bathroom.
The serene and romantic mood that had engulfed the small room got disrupted by several women who claimed to have been late for work.
An ever smiling lady —a banker, half dressed strode to the bathroom after preparing her daughter for school.
She was, however, stunned to find more women queuing for the next available room—to bath.
The most surprising thing was that one room, locked from inside was not getting free.
They could only hear hissing sound from inside. The middle aged banker tiptoed to the ‘busy room’, watched through a crack and witnessed the two as they enjoyed.
A row however, ensued between her and other women in the queue who thought she wanted to jump the line.
“You are just standing there enjoying the sound as you have never produced such. I am getting late for work,” the banker shouted in anger.
The commotion attracted attention of the landlord who lived in the same plot.
On her arrival, the landlord requested to meet the two lovebirds immediately.
“How stupid are you young people? Don’t you even feel ashamed making your elders wait in line outside your ‘lodging? Even if there is cold, you are not allowed to engage in adult activities,” the landlord asked.
“I really wonder…! You mean you can sacrifice your sleep for this?,” she asked.
When the landlord got tired of asking questions without feedback, she invited their parents who were unaware of the love affair.
The landlord said she was ready to solve it confidentially but the two forced her to include their parents as they remained silent.
“I have called your parents so that you can talk…why let your elders queue?,” she asked without an answer.
When the shocked parents asked the two about the secret affair, they conceded that they were in love for six months and were doing it in the bathrooms all along.
The landlord, however, forced the couple to apologize to the women who queued, waiting to shower.
After the couple finished apologizing, a woman swiftly rose up and begged for attention.
“They should be evicted from this plot and go where there is freedom to do such crazy things. They should go or we (tenants) go,” she said. Other tenants supported her thoughts.
When the landlord felt she might lose tenants because of the two, he ordered them to leave her plot.
“In fact, you don’t pay for rooms but your parents do. Pack and go,” the landlord thundered.
It is still unknown where the lovebirds left to and whether they would continue with their love affair.
