Embu County residents will receive free week-long complimentary surgical and medical services.

Jamal Runyenje, the County Executive Committee Member for Health (CECM) said the County Government has partnered with I HOPE International, a US-based NGO, to assist patients with chronic illnesses.

The surgical services, commencing on February 19th will be available until February 24 at the Embu Level 5 hospital.

The United States-based medics arrived in Embu on Sunday and were welcomed by the CECM who was accompanied by the Embu level 5 hospital acting CEO Bancy Wawira.

Runyenje expressed his optimism about the impact of this initiative on the overall health and well-being of Embu residents.

“Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right for every individual. This program is a significant step towards ensuring that no one in our community is left behind when it comes to healthcare,” he said.

I HOPE international CEO, Amy Pajnik emphasized the significance of such partnerships as they actively contribute to the betterment of society.

“It’s a privilege to return to Kenya and contribute to the community. We urge residents to take advantage of this opportunity,” remarked Pajnik.

Currently, 22 specialist doctors and 22 nurses from I HOPE International are stationed in Embu, working in conjunction with local healthcare providers during the camp.

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire is set to launch the program on Monday morning.
