Polling stations across 22 electoral areas will open at 6:00 A.M. and close at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, with all voters in queue by closing time allowed to cast their ballots, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has confirmed.
The commission says preparations are complete, including recruitment and training of polling officials, deployment of KIEMS kits for biometric voter identification, and public display of the Register of Voters.
All polling officials are already at their assigned stations and will spend the night there to ensure they are ready to open and commence polling promptly at 6:00am
Ballot paper pallets were opened on Wednesday in the presence of accredited stakeholders to ensure transparency.
Presiding Officers will oversee all polling activities, while party agents, observers, and media are urged to cooperate and record proceedings without interference.
After polls close, ballots will be counted at polling stations in open view, with official results forms displayed publicly and made available for photographs.

Returning Officers will then collate and announce constituency-level results, with courts remaining the legal avenue for any electoral disputes.

Security personnel have been deployed nationwide, including at all polling stations and tallying centers, to ensure a safe and peaceful voting environment.
IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon called on citizens to vote responsibly, saying: “Your vote is your future. Let us exercise our democratic right peacefully.”
Results will be accessible on the IEBC portal: https://forms.iebc.or.ke.
