Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku has defended Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from accusations by the Council of Governors that he lied to the nation on the issue of emergency funds towards Elnino rains.

Ruku told the Governors led by CoG Chair Ann Waiguru to be proactive and handle emergencies even before the National government steps in.

He noted that the national government released funds to the Counties in July and therefore, County Governments have no reason to fail to discharge their duties.

The MP also took issue with the National Dialogue Committee recommendations, saying they did not reflect the wishes of many Kenyans.

Regarding fuel Consignment associated with Ms Ann Njeri, Ruku noted that she was being used by fuel cartels trying to bring down Kenya Kwanza Government by interfering with fuel prices.

Ruku spoke after attending a church service at St Bernard Catholic Church and Jesus Flock Sanctuary International in Siakago, Mbeere North, Embu County.
