Farmers in Embu County are being encouraged to embrace Goldminer Biofertilizer, a phosphate-solubilizing fungal biofertilizer designed to improve soil health, strengthen crop roots and enhance agricultural productivity.
Available through Munya Agrovet, the main distributor in Embu County, the product offers farmers an opportunity to improve soil fertility while supporting sustainable farming practices.
Goldminer Biofertilizer works by unlocking phosphorus trapped in the soil, making the nutrient more accessible to crops. It also restores soil microbial activity, enhances root development and improves water retention around plant roots, helping crops withstand dry spells.
The biofertilizer is suitable for a wide range of crops, including maize, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, passion fruit and rice, making it an option for both cereal farmers and horticultural producers.
Farmers are advised to observe the following application rates per acre:
- Cereals and pulses: Maize, beans and other crops in this category require 500 grams per acre per application.
- Horticultural crops: Tomatoes, cabbage and similar crops require one kilogram per acre per application, equivalent to two 500-gram packets.
By supporting healthier soils and stronger root systems, Goldminer Biofertilizer seeks to contribute to improved crop yields, better produce quality and increased farmer incomes.
Farmers seeking the product or further information can contact Munya Agrovet, (Kiritiri Stage) Embu County’s main distributor, through Alice Wamae on 0722347970.
As agriculture continues to underpin livelihoods across Embu, farmers are encouraged to explore soil-friendly technologies that promote productivity, resilience and sustainable food production.
