The private car, driven by Jemimah Njeru of Embu, sustained serious damage to its front-left side. Njeru said she was driving towards Embu Town from Mutunduri when the police vehicle suddenly appeared from the opposite direction with its headlights flashing.
“After picking my chicken at Mutunduri, I was slowly traveling back to Embu town when I saw the police vehicle coming straight at me. Before I could react, it hit the front side of my car,” said Njeru.
No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were extensively damaged. Residents condemned what they termed reckless driving by police officers and urged them to follow traffic rules like other motorists.
Police had not issued an official statement on the incident by the time of going to press.
