Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire has officially signed the Embu County Health Services Act into law.

The legislation aims to transform the region’s healthcare system, ensuring comprehensive and equitable health services for all residents.

After signing that Act into law on Friday, Mbarire said the new act will ring-fence health revenues for the Facility Improvement.

“This will improve operations at the Embu Level Five Hospital and other facilities. At Level 5, the registration fee will be Sh100, and children under five years will pay Sh50,” she said.

At all other Facilities (L2 to L5), Mbarire said the registration fee will be Sh50 and free for children under 5 years.

The governor noted that the funds will supplement and cater for operational expenses at the facilities, thus ensuring uninterrupted supplies and services.

“With this new law, I look forward to better management at our facilities and better health services to the people of Embu,” she said.
