KenGen warns job seekers against circulating fake vacancies

Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has issued a stern warning to the public over fake job advertisements circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.

In a statement post published on their social platforms including Facebook, the company cautioned job seekers to be vigilant, emphasizing that all legitimate KenGen vacancies are published exclusively on its official career portal, https://careers.kengen.co.ke.

KenGen clarified that the circulating messages, which promise employment opportunities in exchange for money or personal details, are fraudulent and not associated with the company in any way.

“Beware of fraudulent job adverts claiming to be from KenGen. We have disowned the advert,” the company stated, using the hashtag #KenGenCares to reinforce its commitment to public awareness and safety.

The power producer urged the public to report suspicious messages and avoid sharing personal information or making payments to unauthorized individuals.

KenGen reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and fair recruitment, assuring the public that all hiring processes are conducted through official and verified channels.
