Renowned businessman Ken Java Mwaniki, widely known as Wakagoto, has launched the Wakagoto Foundation, a philanthropic initiative to improve the lives of vulnerable groups across Embu County.
The foundation, which builds on two years of charitable activities, was unveiled during a colorful ceremony on Sunday.
Wakagoto highlighted the foundation’s commitment to addressing pressing societal challenges such as unemployment, poor infrastructure, and food insecurity.
โOur mission is to touch lives and impact generations. Today, we renew our commitment to being a beacon of hope for the less fortunate in our society,โ he said.
The foundation will focus on creating job opportunities, empowering farmers, and supporting key sectors such as transport and education.
It also aims to address broader community needs through projects like improving housing, road repairs, and providing financial and food aid.
Ambitious Economic Vision
The businessman, who doubles as the Eagle 1 Concrete Factory CEO, revealed plans to revolutionize the county’s industrial landscape.
He announced a target of establishing 100 industries in Embu by 2035, which he says will create sustainable livelihoods and drive economic growth.
