County hands over site for market construction

The state-of-the-art Embu Ultra Modern Market will soon start taking shape.

Deputy Governor Justus Kinyua Mugo officially handed over the construction site to the contractor yesterday; throwing the ball in contractor’s court.

The Deputy Governor, Mr. Jamal Runyenje (CECM for Trade, Tourism & Marketing) and Mr. Raymond Kinyua (CECM for lands) led the official handover of the site.

“As we officially hand over the site for construction, we have agreed that the contractor would source both labor and materials locally, fostering community involvement in the project,” Kinyua said.

Upon completion, the multi-million market is expected to significantly bolster the economy of Embu County. Additionally, it will provide a conducive and modern working environment for traders.

The market design incorporates social amenities aimed at improving working conditions for those operating within the market premises.
