The Government is committed to nurturing youth talents through structured programs that transform lives at the grassroots, Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has said.
Speaking at Mayo Stadium, Mbeere North, during the launch of Ishiara FC’s Three-Year Strategic Plan, Ruku announced plans to establish Talanta Centres across the country to identify and develop talent in sports, arts, and other disciplines.
“We have a robust national plan to support talent. The Talanta Centres will serve as springboards for the youth to realize their full potential. President Ruto is fully committed to ensuring that no talent goes to waste,” said Ruku.
The CS urged community leaders, private sector players, and residents to rally behind the initiative, terming youth empowerment through talent a long-term investment in Kenya’s future.

Ruku also hailed Ishiara FC for topping the FKF Division 2 Northern Zone Pool B with 89 points, congratulating the team ahead of their playoff clash in Mombasa.
He praised the club’s new strategic plan as a “model of community development through sport,” highlighting its focus on stadium fencing, a Sports House, team bus acquisition, merchandising, youth programs, and anti-drug campaigns.
He noted that the plan aligns with national development goals outlined in Executive Order No. 1 of 2025, affirming government support through the National Youth Service (NYS), the Ministry of Sports, and other agencies.
“Our youth need more than just motivation—they need real opportunity,” Ruku said, pledging multi-sector collaboration to fund training, infrastructure, and talent development.
He described Ishiara FC as “a symbol of hope and resilience” and urged stakeholders to back its vision of combining sports with social transformation.
