A budding TikToker from Evurore Ward in Mbeere North constituency has gained unexpected recognition from the Embu County governor Cecily Mbarire.
The TikToker, Anthony Munene who goes under the name @tonypeecomedy1 met the governor at her office in Embu town.
When the governor learned of the viral video clips done by the 28-year-old man, she requested to meet him for a talk.
“I had the pleasure of meeting TikToker Anthony Munene who ingeniously mimics my voice in his comedic content. I am delighted to learn that this platform has contributed to his career growth in comedy,” said Mbarire.
The governor acknowledged that the creative arts sector remains pivotal for social and economic prosperity.
Mbarire noted that she was committed to collaborating with young talents like Munene, nurturing their skills, and transforming them into viable economic opportunities through the youth and talents docket.
Munene, a father of two who hails from Kanthuniri village in Ishiara, ventured into comedy five years ago but started uploading his content on social media platforms last month.
“I have mimicked the voices of President William Ruto, opposition leader Raila Odinga, Attorney General Justin Bedan Muturi, and the governor among other leaders,” Munene said.
Rather than dismissing the mimicry as a mockery like many, Governor Mbarire embraced it as a compliment.
Munene has been mimicking Governor Mbarire’s voice in different scenarios, earning him widespread recognition and applause from online audiences.
The social comedian appealed to county leaders and authorities for support in his mission to nurture young talent through social media initiatives.
