Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji has praised the Gen-Z generation of Embu for coming forward to protest against government inefficiency, prompting President William Ruto to dissolve the cabinet.

Speaking at a meeting with the youths in Embu town, Mukunji commended the action, saying it would enhance leader accountability and improve government performance.

“I would like to thank the president for listening to the Kenyans and dismissing all the Cabinet Secretaries. I would also ask him to engage the Gen-Z when appointing the new competent members, ” Mukunji said.

At the same time, the MP has urged the Embu County government to be transparent and to clarify the difference between county and national projects being done.

Mukunji emphasized that project transparency is key to ensuring leaders perform their duties effectively.

“Highlighting the differences between projects undertaken by county and national governments has exposed the incompetence of some leaders including those from the national level” Mukunji added.

Additionally, he called for good cooperation between the national government and the devolved units in implementing development projects.
