Authorities in Embu County have intensified crackdown on illicit alcohol, with a successful raid conducted on an illegal brew den in Kevote–Gaturi Ward in Runyenjes Constituency on Tuesday.
The operation, led by the county government and supported by local law enforcement, is part of ongoing efforts to combat the proliferation of illegal alcohol in the region.
According to Governor Cecily Mbarire, the raid marks a significant step in the county’s mission to protect families from the harmful effects of unregulated brews.
“The menace of illicit brews must come to an end. We remain steadfast in our commitment to doing what is right and safeguarding our families,” said Mbarire.
Governor Mbarire praised the community for its cooperation, noting that public support played a critical role in the success of the operation.

This action is part of a broader county-wide initiative targeting the production and sale of illegal alcohol, which officials say contributes to rising health and social problems.
County officials have vowed to sustain the campaign, with more operations expected in the coming weeks.
