A road construction mishap in Embu town led to a grader ramming into a house near Shauri Slums, resulting in one person sustaining serious injuries.
The incident occurred earlier today, causing alarm among the residents.
Eyewitnesses said the grader, engaged in road work, lost control and veered off its path, crashing into the nearby dwelling.
The individual inside the house at the time of the accident suffered severe injuries and was promptly taken to Embu Level Five Hospital for urgent medical attention.
“The brakes may have failed, and the driver couldn’t stop the machine from crashing into the house,” said Ann Wanjiru, a resident.
Confirming the incident, Embu County Police Commander Nicholas Maina said the driver and his assistant, who were operating the grader, sustained minor injuries.
He said the two were also rushed to Embu level five hospital for medical attention.
