Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has spearheaded the distribution of certified maize and bean seeds to farmers in Kirimari Ward in Manyatta Constituency under the county’s Mbegu Mashinani program.

Governor Mbarire emphasized the county’s commitment to improving agricultural productivity and food security by ensuring farmers access to high-quality, climate-resilient seeds.

“This initiative is designed to boost yields and enhance the livelihoods of our farmers by providing them with certified seeds suited for our region,” she stated.

The program comes at a critical time as farmers prepare for the ongoing rainy season. Beneficiaries expressed optimism that the improved seed varieties would enhance their harvests and reduce dependency on relief food.

The Mbegu Mashinani program is part of broader county efforts to support agriculture through subsidies, training, and access to farm inputs.
