The Embu County Department of Health has presented its proposed budget estimates for the 2025/2026 Financial Year, outlining key investments aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the region.

Speaking before the County Assembly, Health CECM Hon. Jamal Runyenje said the department’s top priorities include recruiting more skilled health workers, increasing drug supplies, boosting emergency response capacity, and upgrading diagnostic equipment in public health facilities.

“Our focus is to strengthen service delivery, reduce patient referrals, and curb preventable deaths caused by staffing gaps and poor infrastructure,” Mr. Runyenje told the Assembly.

Key proposals in the budget include the hiring of additional medical personnel, procurement of ambulances, and acquisition of modern treatment and diagnostic equipment.
