Residents of Embu County are set to benefit from a series of free legal aid clinics organized by lawyer Mafrick Munene to help locals access justice and better understand the law.
Munene said many people are grappling with legal challenges but lack the financial means to seek professional help.
He described the initiative as a way of giving back to the community, especially to those who would otherwise remain unheard.
The clinics, running from April 8 to 11, will be held in all four constituencies of Embu County.
On April 8, the team will pitch camp at Runyenjes Redeemed Gospel Church Grounds near Gitare Junction. On April 9, they move to Manyatta at the St. John Ambulance, Kenya House grounds, opposite Talent Academy.
Siakago ACK Cathedral Church will host the clinic on April 10, while the final session will be held on April 11 at All Saints ACK Kiritiri Church grounds.
The legal team will offer services covering land disputes, succession and trusts, intellectual property, company and business registration, employment and labour matters, family law, insurance claims, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
They will also provide free certification of documents, commission affidavits, and assist with university and college forms. Attendees are advised to carry original documents.
Human rights activist Doris Namu urged residents with legal concerns to take full advantage of the clinics, noting that the issues covered align with the needs she regularly encounters in her advocacy work.
