Prominent businessman Kenjava Wakagoto has called on Embu farmers to capitalize on the newly established Avokad Fruits (K) Ltd to boost their incomes by venturing into avocado farming.

Wakagoto highlighted the immense potential for farmers to boost their income and improve their livelihoods through avocado farming.

Through a post on his Facebook page, he described the facility as a game-changer, offering farmers direct access to international markets.

“We agreed that poverty is our common enemy, and we need to eliminate it. By growing and delivering avocados to Avokad Fruits (K) Ltd, you can significantly improve your financial situation,” Wakagoto stated.

He highlighted that the facility is equipped with advanced processing capabilities and a commercial helipad to ensure seamless transportation of the produce to Airports for export.

The businessman described how the initiative would enable farmers to earn a steady income while contributing to the county’s economic development.

“Imagine this: you harvest your avocados in the morning, and by the next day, your fruits are being enjoyed in Dubai. This is the future of farming in Embu,” he said.

Wakagoto also encouraged farmers to embrace avocado farming as a solution to poverty, noting that the fruit’s high demand globally offers a lucrative market.

The company is offering training programs and support to ensure farmers meet export quality standards.

Embu Chapter KNCCI chairman, John Mugo Mate has lauded the factory’s establishment, citing its potential to create jobs, reduce post-harvest losses, and uplift farmers’ livelihoods.
