Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged content creators and talented individuals to harness the power of the creative arts to tackle prevalent vices within society.
Emphasizing the transformative potential of artistic expression, Gachagua underscored the critical role the creative community can play in addressing pressing social issues.
Speaking during the closure of the 62nd National Drama and Film Festivals in Embu, Gachagua highlighted the multifaceted nature of contemporary challenges, ranging from substance abuse to crime and social inequality.
“Scriptwriters, producers, directors, and other content creators, please do for us some great productions. We must communicate to Kenyans through drama, songs, and dances because it’s through them they will understand better what we are saying,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua noted that the vices not only destroy family units but also radiate threats to the nation and humankind.

Gachagua pledged to reward any content creator who features winning content on drug abuse and alcoholism in their creative work.
“If there are some good productions on drugs and substance abuse, I will sponsor them to perform across the country before the people of Kenya,” Gachagua said.
