Christmas and New Year festivities are over. Yes, they are over, and we are already in 2024. To those whose minds are fighting with the indulgences of Christmas festivities, let’s get back to our ordinary businesses.

As many have put it before, only a single number has changed–nothing more, nothing less. You only write 2023 and 2024 to believe it. The ordinary daily hustles continue.

Being the second week of January, the week that we are also getting children back to school, many people have found themselves facing the stark reality of post-celebration blues.

What’s the hell? No bus fare, let alone school fees. The landlord may lock my house anytime.

We must admit that whatever amount we spent on festive stuff, won’t come back. Think this way, the wastage went a long way and it was a blessing to others.

January is a month, often accompanied by tightened budgets and a sense of financial strain. So, nothing new. To make matters worse, many of us employed receive our December salaries way before Christmas.

It is not yet the 67th day of January and you are already tired of peeping on your bank account to find nothing. Many who take a bottle or two are now saved…hehehehe…

We must learn from our mistakes. January hurdles should present an opportunity for reflection and financial recalibration.

We ought also to check the names such as Buda, Chairman, Boss, Mweshimiwa, etc which persuade us to extravagantly spend up to the last coin. We need to confess, repent, and seek penance for falling into such sins.

Let’s learn from our mistakes this year. Take time to assess your expenditures, identify areas where cutbacks can be made, and prioritize essential expenses.

By setting realistic financial goals and sticking to them, you can regain control over your finances and alleviate the stress associated with post-holiday spending.

Now, let’s get back to business, and don’t hesitate to explore creative and cost-effective ways to enhance your well-being come January 2025. Happy New Year.
