Catholic Diocese of Embu Bishop, Rt. Rev. Peter Kimani Ndung’u has called for contentment, justice, and reconciliation, warning against greed and corruption that deny others their rights.
Speaking at the opening of the Holy Door at Maria Consolata Iriamurai Parish on Friday, Bishop Kimani condemned acts of dishonesty, including bribery, which he said erode moral values.
He cited some traffic police officers who solicit Sh50 bribes as an example of how greed has infiltrated society.
“With contentment, we will not take what is not ours. But because of greed, some have reached a point where they deny others justice,” he said.
The bishop, who opened the fourth Door of Hope in the Diocese of Embu, urged Christians to embrace generosity, reconciliation, and unwavering faith.
He called on the faithful to return what was unjustly taken and mend broken relationships.
“True faith calls us to heal divisions and transform friendships into genuine neighborly love,” he emphasized.
Bishop Kimani also encouraged students to uphold moral integrity and obedience while reminding the faithful to prioritize prayer, service, and compassion.
He further highlighted the suffering of people worldwide, urging prayers for prisoners and those affected by conflicts, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“The love of Christ is radical—it calls us to renew our commitment to faith and hope,” he said.
The event, held at Maria Consolata Deanery, marked a significant moment in the Diocese’s spiritual journey, reinforcing the call to justice, hope, and faith-driven transformation.
