The Bus Party has firmly dismissed social media reports alleging an impending merger with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), calling the claims “misleading propaganda” aimed at confusing its support base.

Speaking during a press briefing, newly appointed party leader Lenny Kivuti affirmed the party’s independence and commitment to grassroots-driven leadership, stating it would remain a key player in the opposition movement.

“We remain committed to listening to grassroots voices and aligning with their aspirations. The Bus Party will not merge with any political outfit,” said Kivuti, who succeeds former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

Kivuti, a former Embu Senator and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant, announced plans to expand the party’s footprint, targeting operational offices in over 40 counties by 2026 and full national representation by the next General Election.

The Bus Party also plans to field candidates for all elective positions in Embu County and replicate the strategy nationwide.

“Our agenda is rooted in development across agriculture, education, health, youth empowerment, ICT, and the creative economy,” Kivuti stated, emphasizing inclusivity in leadership and decision-making.

He pledged the party’s support for youth, women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups, highlighting their role in national development.

On the Mbeere North by-election, Kivuti rallied support behind the party’s candidate, Muminji Ward MCA Newton Karish, urging residents to back the party’s vision for a “stronger and united Kenya.”
