The Diocese of Embu Bishop Rt. Rev. Peter Kimani Ndung’u has urged Christians to approach the upcoming Christmas season with sobriety and a spirit of sharing.
Speaking at Christ the King Kathunguri Parish during its 11th-anniversary celebrations, the Bishop emphasized the need for reflection, unity, and generosity as the festive season draws near.
The Bishop, who presided over the event on Sunday, urged the faithful to remember the less fortunate in their communities as a central aspect of their Christmas preparations.
“Let this season remind us of Christ’s humility and sacrifice. Let us extend a helping hand to those in need,” he said.
During the celebration, he confirmed 102 Christians into the faith and congratulated them on taking a significant step in their spiritual journey.
He urged the newly confirmed and all attendees to be ambassadors of peace and goodwill in their families and neighborhoods.
The Kathunguri parish celebrated its anniversary with vibrant activities, including Holy Mass, entertainment performances, and a communal meal.
The month-old Bishop commended the parish community for their dedication and urged them to continue fostering growth in faith and service.

As Christmas approaches, the Bishop encourages the faithful to focus on spiritual preparation, saying, “Christmas is a time to renew our relationship with God and each other. Let us prioritize what truly matters: love, faith, and kindness.”
The attendees praised the Bishop’s message as timely and inspiring.
